  1. Let It Go

About the need to let go of some thoughts/feelings that provide no benefit and only hold one back from moving forward into more positivity – life is hard sometimes and the acceptance of that idea can be difficult – life will never be perfect.

The main track was recorded on an incredibly hot August evening in 2018 in our basement rehearsal space.

Bass player (John) had the idea to double the vocals by having both singer (Barb) and guitarist (Glenn) sing together on the track - producer (Randy Plett) readjusted the idea somewhat by starting the double vocal in the 2nd verse to help build the song.

Lyrics

Let It Go

Words and Music by Glenn Matthes

I always thought - that dreamers are blessed today
Never any tragedy to be seen
and never felt any type - of real pain
But me I've seen the darkest of days
and I've cried in the night - sought escape from the light
and I guess I know - I know my dream has died

So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
Were we not told - dreamers see the sun
Never touched the black darkness alone
Never needed - the cold pouring rain
But me I've seen the darkest of days
Cried in the night - sought escape in the cruelty of life
and I guess I know - I know my dream has died
So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
Now I need - to follow my head
and I – need - to follow my heart
it's not too late now as I make – I make a brand new start
a brand new start
Oh . . . if I let it go Oh . . . if I let it go Oh . . .
If I let it go – now I know I have to
So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
So now I know I have to - let it go - just let go
Things'll get better – oh - if I let it go
